ive realized im really horrible at making new friends. and it doesnt help that i dont live on campus and all the people in my classes this semester are really lame. its really frustrating and im starting to get sick of it. someone teach me how to be more social please. i miss how easy it was to make new friends at clark. it doesnt seem like it is until you leave it and have to really go out of your way to get to know someone. hopefully ill eventually move into the dorms here but what do i do until then? i know a couple cool guys in my classes but its a little weird asking a guy if he wants to hang out when he knows youre in a relationship. unless youre hanging out with a group. bah. why does it have to be awkward! grr.

one of the local radio stations is doing a 90's themed weekend and theyve been playing all kinds of cheesy boy band pop mixed with alternative rock and hardcore grunge. its been providing me with endless amusement lol. anyway, my birthday was pretty mellow but happy. i hung out with chris all day and went out to lunch, then met up with cat n dylan for some late night ihoppin and couldnt stop laughing for like an hour, i cant remember why lol. then a couple nights ago me n cat found an awesome spot with a view of the whole city and the airport so we can see the fireworks and watch the planes come in on the 4th. cant wait. i also spent like an hour by the pool yesterday and got a pretty noticeable tan. crazy new mexico sun. theres like my whole week in a few sentences for you. also, my mom is back from poland and she brought pictures. im so uber jealous.

hmm, so the last few days have been going pretty good. ive had a lot more time alone to think about stuff. youd think that would be a bad thing but im kind of suprised by the fact that it hasnt been. its nice to have cool people to hang out with again that i dont feel like i have to impress all the time. ive got plans to go play tennis with cat later and a job interview tomorrow morning. and i miss my christopher. and now i need to go do laundry because ive got virtually nothing left to wear. lateroo.

its finally starting to feel like summer and its making me happy. i spent a few hours hanging out at the pool yesterday and actually got a tan, which was sweet. then i went and played mini golf and saw a movie with chris and later curled up on his bed and watched some scrubs episodes. it was a good day. any day that ends with curling up on the bed with someone is always a good day. i havent had one of those in a while.

my mom left on monday. shes going to be in poland for a month. god i miss it so much. i need to apply for a summer program again next year so i can go spend 8 weeks in krakow. if i dont get to go next summer i think i might lose it.

and now im really tired. mmm lazy afternoons watching law and order. and yay for iced tea and grilled cheese sandwiches. goober is trying to climb up on the sofa chair with me and lick me to death so i think ill go now.

republicans fucking piss me off. they never have any facts to back up their arguments. and whenever i try to have some sort of logical discussion with them about anything they get defensive and retreat with statements like "this is what i think and i really dont care if you agree or not." ugh. way to be mature about it.

so school is done and i can do a happy dance because for the first time in a long time i actually liked my classes and think i did really well in them. i just finished filling out my summer application for UNM, so i guess ill find out soon wether ill be going there this summer. if not ill do tvi again until the fall. either way, im excited. the pool will open soon and i can get another job and have money for stuff and can finally get another tattoo. woot for me. ok , i think its time to spoon the christopher and watch a movie.

i feel pretty stupid right about now. but i think i can honestly say that i truly believe that things are going to get better from tonight on. maybe ill finally get my shit together, and maybe me and my mom will start fighting less, and maybe ill get a good roomate at UNM and a job nearby and my life will finally feel like its all going in one direction. for now i just feel like ive been incredibly selfish. and i wish i could say just how sorry i am. and that now that i know what ive been doing wrong im going to make damn sure to fix it. it hurts to know that ive done things that have hurt him. but i guess all there is left to say is that im really looking forward to the future. and i know that not everything in our lives is going to be ok, but that we will be. and i really believe that. and that makes me happy, because being with him makes me happy. more than anything.

so some chick in my art class today out of nowhere went off on a rant about what a horrible movie pulp fiction is, and how disgusting it is, and what a bad influence it is when she’s never even fucking seen the thing. so i asked her how it was possible for her to have such a strong opinion if she’s never even seen it and all of a sudden she shut up and started asking questions about what the movie was about and tried to seem really interested. freedom of speech is all good and fine but don’t go fucking crusading against something that you know nothing about. what’s sad is this is the same kind of stupidity we see in public schools when administration bans books from libraries before ever reading them. ugh.
another stupid chick in my soc class pissed me off the other day too. she tried to say that everyone has an equal opportunity to gain higher status in society if they just work hard enough. yeah, you tell me who you think has a better chance of going to college, someone born into poverty with 6 brothers and sisters, no father, and a mother addicted to crack or someone born into an upper-middle class family with both parents and enough money for a private tutor. not to mention the fact that public schools in poor neighborhoods continually score low on standardized tests and therefore receive less and less funding. go ahead, try to tell me that there’s nothing wrong with the system. unless you can by some miracle prove that the poor are genetically inferior and incapable of learning. yeah, didn’t think so. oh, and shall i mention that it is a statistical fact that most people tend to remain in the social class they are born into? this is not a matter of opinion, its a statistical fact.
the same girl also said that she wouldn’t look most Hispanic people in the eye if she saw them on the street, then later complained about how she was treated unfairly in Hawaii because she was white. possibly one of the most hypocritical things I've ever heard. look, try to gain some fucking perspective before you ramble on pretending to know what its like to be a member of the working class or a minority or whatever it is that you’re not.
